Howard
H. Pohl is a Principal of Becker, Burke Associates Incorporated. In
this capacity, he is responsible for conducting investment policy/asset
allocation, investment manager search, performance evaluation and
special consulting services for clients nationwide. This includes
working with public and corporate plans, multi-employer funds, as well as
endowment and foundation funds. Mr. Pohl has coordinated the development
of investment manager search analysis, the utilization of international
securities, and the advancement of long-range planning techniques.
Mr. Pohl brings to these activities a broad background of experience
in the investment community. He was formerly a Senior Vice President
and Manager of A.G. Becker/SEI Consulting Services. In this responsibility,
he headed the Group which conducted all investment manager search
studies as well as investment policy/asset allocation projects.
He had joined the Funds Evaluation Division of A.G. Becker as a
consultant, responsible for all evaluation activities in several
Midwestern states. Formerly he had been an Investment Officer of
the Trust Department of the First National Bank of Chicago.
Mr. Pohl is a frequent speaker at conferences including the Government
Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the International Foundation
of Employee Benefit Plans, the Institutional Investor Pension Seminar
Series, the National Association of State Retirement Administrators
(NASRA), the National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR), the
National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS),
various regional Investment Analyst Society meetings, and seminars
sponsored by the Investment Management Institute. Mr. Pohl was a former advisor to the Government Finance Officers Association
Committee on Retirement and Benefits Administration (CORBA). He is currently an Associate Firm Advisory Member of the National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA) Executive Committee.
Mr. Pohl is a graduate of North Park College in Chicago where he
majored in economics with a minor in political science. He attended
the Graduate School of Business of Roosevelt University in Chicago,
where his major field of emphasis in the M.B.A. program was finance.
